Poker table cup holders are incredibly important for every single Texas holdem poker table in existence. If your table doesn’t have cup holders then you may as well call off poker night right now, because what’s the point!?
If your table does have them but you’re not happy with them then you can buy new ones that will slide in because most cup holders are fairly standard. Unlike most things in life, a set of cup holders won’t run you two terribly much money. You can usually find them for around $3-$5 each. Of course if you’ve got a table that seats eight people, I suppose you can expect to pay between $24 and $40 for a set of eight.
Course I’m talking about generic cupholders here. If you want to have custom cupholders made it’s gonna be a lot more expensive but then you’d expect it to be because anything custom-made costs more. When it comes to these things you have lots of different options. You can get regular plastic ones and you can get stainless steel ones, heck you can even get copper ones. You can find some that have different things engraved in them and you can even have something engraved in them yourself if you want but I usually find that to be overkill because for the most part they have cans sitting in them anyway!
I once had a buddy that had one of those folding table top poker tables that he’d pull out of the closet every time it was his turn to host poker night, and that tabletop thing did have cupholders but they were really shallow as you might expect. What he did was just cut out the bottom of the cupholders and sort of slide in nice new cupholders into the holes. That worked pretty good for while until he eventually spent some money to buy an actual poker table.
That’s the problem with a lot of these folding tabletop poker tables, they don’t have cupholders or they have really cheap flimsy small cupholders that don’t really do the trick. I don’t know about you but whenever I play poker I get pretty animated often swinging my arms around and yelling. If my cup isn’t securely fastened to the table I’m more likely than not to knock it over and disrupt everything.
The last thing you want is that nice felt on your table ruined by spilt beer because as much as you try and clean those things, you can never really get it all soaked up and you are going to have a stain, which is annoying to say the least.
If you do have a folding tabletop without cupholders, the best thing to do is to buy yourself some weighted cupholders that will do a pretty good job of staying where you put them so that you or your buddies don’t knock over their beers and ruin your day.
Of course if you’ve just got one of those cheap $30 poker tabletop foldout things then you may not be too worried about having things spilled on it and ruining it because you only paid $30 to begin with and it seems kind of strange to spend $40 on cupholders for tabletop that only cost $30 but stranger things have happened!
I don’t want to say that poker table cup holders are the most important thing for a table to have, but they’re definitely one of the most important things because a poker table is just not a poker table without a decent set of cupholders and that’s just the way it is so deal with it!
